Séfora Camazano (born 1981, Lorena, Brazil) is a Spanish-Brazilian multidisciplinary artist with over two decades of professional practice spanning painting, photography, graphic design, and visual narrative. Her work is distinguished by the convergence of technical rigor and introspective depth, establishing a sustained dialogue between the human, the spiritual, and the realm of memory.
Séfora has received multiple recognitions for the artistic merit and sensitivity of her work and has exhibited internationally in institutions, galleries, and art fairs across Europe, the Middle East, and the United States. Her exhibitions have taken place in cities including Valencia, New York, Basel, Zurich, Paris, Zug, Barcelona, Cologne, Milan, Nice, Palma de Mallorca, Florence, Berlin, Venice, and Dubai, consolidating her presence within the contemporary art scene.
At the core of Camazano’s practice lies a profound commitment to human dignity, resilience, and the transformative potential of art. Through long-term projects such as Female Portraits: Migrants—presented at the Museo de Historia de Valencia, Centro Ibercaja Actur in Zaragoza, and the Casa de Cultura of Alboraya—and Female Portraits: Looking Back to the Past, exhibited at The Westin Valencia and the Botanical Garden of the University of Valencia, she has given visibility to migrant women and survivors of violence. These bodies of work transform portraiture into a space of remembrance, awareness, and symbolic reparation.
Séfora Camazano works across photography and painting, developing a practice centered on portraiture and the exploration of identity, memory, and human presence. Her work approaches the image as a site of reflection rather than representation, where psychological and social dimensions are held in careful balance.
Camazano employs contemporary photographic processes alongside oil painting, gold leaf, and manual intervention, integrating material precision with conceptual clarity. Her images are constructed through a controlled visual language that privileges restraint, structure, and duration.
Her practice engages with social realities and lived experience, addressing themes of resilience, displacement, and dignity. Through portraiture, Camazano situates the individual within a broader cultural and historical context, allowing the image to function as a space of recognition.
Art, in her work, operates as an act of attention. The image serves to affirm presence and restore visibility, articulating a quiet but sustained ethical position.
Séfora Camazano has presented her work in both solo and group exhibitions across Europe, with a growing international presence.
