Pregnant and six months along, she made a heart-wrenching decision: to board a makeshift boat in search of a safer, better future for her unborn child. The perilous journey across the sea lasted four harrowing days, with no food or water. As the days wore on, she feared the worst as her baby stopped moving in her womb.

Upon reaching Las Palmas, Rquia was taken to a reception center with the help of the police and was later transferred to another city in Spain. Though she seldom speaks of her past, her silence echoes the profound trauma and fear that forced her to risk everything.

In Europe, Rquia has found the freedom to make decisions about her life, her religion, her way of dressing, and her behavior in public. Her greatest motivation is her daughter, the driving force behind her courageous journey.
